For the last several years I have been interested in the Civil War, especially as it affected the ancestors of my wife and me. During that time, I have gathered a lot of information on Illinois units, and the ancestors of both of us. I thought it would be fun to share some of that with anyone who was interested. This site is under construction, and hopefully, always will be. Since I plan to add material on a continuing basis, visit often. If you see anything which you feel to be wrong, or would like added, please let me know . 

I plan to start with Morgan Co., followed by neighboring counties in an expanding circle. I plan to have a list of soldiers from each county, service, pension and family data about each, death, obituary, and burial info as I get it. I will also have links to unit histories, maps showing the travels of units, pictures where available, diary exerpts and any information you care to contribute, etc.

If you have info, pictures, death and burial info, etc. on your soldier that you would allow me to display here under the appropriate unit or soldier, please contact me. Other things I'm looking for are listed here and are added on to the list from time to time.
